Motherwell face a trip to Dens Park in the Ladbrokes Premiership on Saturday, with three points important to both sides for different reasons.

The Dee will be looking to cut the gap between themselves and the sides above them, whilst the Steelmen could see themselves move further from the foot of the table.

Here, we look at the fixture in numbers.

    7

The number of meeting between the two sides since Dundee last picked up a win, back in April 2017.

Since that 3-2 win for Dundee, the Fir Parkers have won six and drawn once.

Four of those have been victories at Dens Park.

    15

The Steelmen have huge incentive as they head for Dens Park, with the chance to go 15 points clear from the foot of the table.

The Dee, currently eleventh in the league, could cut the gap to as little as eight points.

It makes for an intriguing encounter in the 23rd league fixture of the 2018/19 campaign.

    205

Saturday’s clash will be the 205th league meeting between the two sides.

Dundee edge the historical head-to-head record, racking up 91 victories in that time.

Motherwell have 71 wins, alongside 42 draws, ahead of the latest clash between the two clubs on Saturday.

Need to Know: A look at Dundee

Need to Know: A look at Dundee

Dundee play host to Motherwell for the second time this season on Saturday.

Here’s the lowdown on our Ladbrokes Premiership opponents.

    Recent form

The Dark Blues have won two of their last 10 league matches, with their most recent victory coming in style at Hearts at the weekend.

Before then, a win at home to Hamilton at the start of December was a rare bright spark in a run that saw them draw with St Mirren, Hibernian, Rangers and Livingston, while losing to Kilmarnock, Aberdeen, Celtic and St Johnstone.

    Fresh faces

Dundee have added to their squad in the January window.

Seny Dieng arrived on loan from QPR in goals, and has been joined by a host of other new faces.

Also joining him have been Halmstad defender Andreas Hadenius, Sunderland forward Andrew Nelson, Craig Curran, Scunthorpe pair James Horsfield and Andy Dales.

Andrew Davies also signed on in January, but has since suffered a foot injury which will rule him out of action.

    Miller the marksman

Dundee have netted 17 times so far in the 2018/19 league season, and Kenny Miller has weighed in with seven of those goals.

Of players still at the club, seven other players have netted once, meaning Miller has scored as many as the rest of the current squad put together.

Robinson looks ahead to Dens Park trip

Stephen Robinson is calling on his side to find consistency as they prepare for Saturday’s clash against Dundee.

The manager was pleased with his team in their 1-0 win over Hibernian on Wednesday, but insists they need to produce the goods regularly.

“We’re trying to find our consistency and I believe it will come. We showed signs on Wednesday night, but we need to follow that up,” he said.
