Aaron Taylor-Sinclair has left the club to join English League Two side Crewe Alexandra on loan until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old left back joined from Plymouth Argyle in the summer, but a series of injuries have restricted him to just five league starts in claret and amber.

He joins Crewe as they hunt for a play-off spot, the Railwaymen sit just nine points behind sixth-placed MK Dons.

“Aaron arrived having previously excelled in the Scottish Premiership with Partick Thistle and, having won a move south to the English Championship at the time, we were excited to add him to our squad last summer,” Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson said.

“Whilst his ability is unquestionable, a number of frustrating injuries have prevented him from really getting going at Fir Park.

“We felt it best and fair on everyone to give him a fresh start elsewhere.”

Everyone at Motherwell Football Club would like to thank Aaron for his effort whilst at the club. As his contract with us will expire at the end of his loan spell, we wish him every success in his future career.

Motherwell’s game with Rangers has been moved to Sunday, April 7.

The match was originally due to be played at Fir Park on Saturday, April 6.

The new kick-off time is at 12.30pm and the game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

The fixture is the Steelmen’s last in 2018/19 before the Ladbrokes Premiership splits in two.

Motherwell head to Paisley on Wednesday, 6 February in pursuit of another three Ladbrokes Premiership points.

The Steelmen were victorious against St Mirren in their last trip west, pushed on by a strong travelling support.

Motherwell Football Club are delighted to confirm David Turnbull has signed a new two-and-a-half year contract at the club.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been a revelation since winning his place in the first team, scoring five times in 13 starts in claret and amber this term.

The Scottish youth international had four months left on his previous deal, but has now extended that until the summer of 2021.

“We’re delighted David has agreed to extend his contract,” manager Stephen Robinson said.

“It’s to his credit that he has rejected the possibility of a more to a bigger or so-called more lucrative club in favour of continuing his development here, playing first team football,”

“He’s made a brilliant start to his Motherwell career, but he also knows that he can get even better if he continues to work hard and continues to learn.

“He’s joined other academy graduates such as Allan Campbell, Chris Cadden and Jake Hastie who are now imposing themselves on the first team.

“The positive news for the club is that we have others hot on their heels with the likes of Barry Maguire, Adam Livingstone, James Scott and more close to making their own impact.”

A Motherwell fan who joined the club at the age of nine, Turnbull says it was the natural choice to stay at Fir Park.

“I am really pleased to get this deal over the line and to have my immediate future sorted,” he said.

“I can kick on now, keep getting games under my belt, keep trying to do what I’m doing and hopefully it could be the start of something.

“I think I’ve made a decent start, but I know I’ve got a lot to learn and the place for me to do that is at Motherwell.”

Motherwell host Livingston on Saturday, looking to build on three back-to-back Ladbrokes Premiership wins.

Stephen Robinson’s men have defeated Hamilton, Hibernian and Dundee and take on the Lions looking to pull level with them on points.

“The manager asked us if we could follow up from the game on Wednesday night, and we did,” Rodríguez-Gorrin said.

And, in truth, it was an afternoon in which the Steelmen had to dig in deep.

It was Dundee, forced in to an early change when Jesse Curran made way for Roarie Deacon, who looked the side likeliest to open the scoring.

Gary Woods went close just after the half hour mark, but should have made more of his chance from the edge of the box, which he could only slice wide of the mark.

On the stroke of half time, Jim McIntyre’s men should have taken the lead, but Andrew Nelson got his effort horribly wrong when one-on-one with Mark Gillespie and missed the target completely.

The second half started with Dundee continuing where they left off, and the home support sensing a goal was coming.

But it was the travelling Fir Parker’s who got off the mark, when substitute Elliott Frear was tripped in the box, giving Willie Collum no choice but to point to the spot.

Up stepped Turnbull, who made no mistake as he sent Dundee keeper Seny Dieng the wrong way.

Dundee looked to respond through the tricky Andrew Dales and Deacon on either flank, but the latter couldn’t take advantage of two big opportunities late on, and the Steelmen held strong for all three points.
