Mich’el Parker is the latest in the door at Motherwell.

The defensive midfielder has signed a deal until January, having spent the last few months training with the team.

“Mich’el has been training with us for a while now and shown a gradual improvement,” manager Graham Alexander said.

“He’s a young player who has been at Liverpool and West Ham but lost his way a little.

“He’s now got an opportunity here to show he can build a successful football career.

“He has some work to do but he has the ability and there’s a will from him to take this chance. We look forward to helping him achieve that.”

Mich’el will wear the number 26 jersey and is available for selection for Saturday’s homecoming Premier Sports Cup match against Queen of the South.

The 22-year-old has been on the books at Arsenal, Liverpool, Millwall and West Ham United, featuring in Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy.

Fans will return to Fir Park for the first time in 500 days on Saturday, with up to 2,000 fans in attendance for the Premier Sports Cup match with Queen of the South.

How to get in

If you’re in the John Hunter Stand, please queue from the Knowetop School end.

If you’re in the Davie Cooper Stand, please queue down Knowetop Avenue round into Firpark Street.

If you’re in the South Stand, queue through the car park.

Please show your ticket to the steward on arrival. They’ll send you the right way.

Inside the stadium

Wear your mask, especially when moving around.

Kiosks are closed – but there’s free water available for you at all times.

Please listen to the stewards at full time, so we can have a staggered exit.

Motherwell have signed former Hamilton captain Amy Anderson.

The midfielder joins after a five-year stint with the club, where she made over 100 appearances.

“I’m delighted to be a Motherwell player,” said Anderson. “Being a Motherwell supporter makes being here even more special for me.

“I believe the club is heading in the right direction and I can’t wait to be part of it.

“I’m looking forward to working under Paul and seeing what this team are capable of achieving.”

The midfielder joins up with head coach Paul Brownlie and the rest of the squad for the upcoming campaign.

“Amy is another massive signing to add to our squad for the campaign,” Brownlie said.

“To get Amy here is yet another real statement. She will add real quality and real energy to this team.

“Amy is a passionate Motherwell supporter, and she knows the club really well having spent time within the academy.

“She has since developed her game away from the club. The coaching staff and I now have the responsibility to take Amy’s game to the next level.”

Kaela McDonald-Nguah and Lori Gardner will be staying for another season with Motherwell.

The pair have signed one-year extensions with the club.

Kaela McDonald-Nguah

Staying on for her second full season at Motherwell, McDonald-Nguah will be looking to add to her goal tally further for the women of steel.

“I’m extremely happy to have re-signed for the upcoming season,” Kaela said.

“The future looks incredibly bright at the club. With Paul coming in, a coach who I have worked with since the age of nine.

“I know his standards are high and he will really drive the women’s team and academy programme forward.

“Adding the experience of Leanne Crichton highlights the direction we aim to go in.”

Lori Gardner

Forward Lori Gardner will be staying for her third season at Motherwell after impressing last season.

Signed from Lanarkshire rivals Hamilton in 2019, Gardner has proven she can be pivotal in matches.

“I’m thrilled to sign with Motherwell for another year,” Lori added.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Paul and the rest of the coaching staff this year.

“The past few weeks have been brilliant and I can’t wait for the season to start.”

Loch Lomond Group have extended their partnership with the club.

Glen’s Vodka will continue to feature on the back of first team home and away kits in the 2021/22 campaign.

As part of the agreement, a range of vodka and whisky products will be stocked in our stadium bars, including Glen’s Red, Loch Lomond Malt Whiskies as well as Reserve and Signature Blends.

Suzanne Reid, head of commercial and marketing at Motherwell FC, added: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Loch Lomond Group and thank them for their continued support.

“Following the success of the 1991 Scottish Cup commemorative whisky, a new limited-edition malt will be developed and I would welcome supporters suggestions for its theme.”

Keith Lasley has signed a new contract with the club.

The new one-year contract extension for the assistant manager brings him in line with manager Graham Alexander and fellow assistant Chris Lucketti.

“I’m really happy that Keith has extended his contract with us and hopefully it shows the value he brings to my coaching staff,” manager Graham Alexander said.

“He’s been a great source of knowledge with his experience of the Scottish game since we came in, and as time has gone by we’re developing a real relationship of how we work and bring out the best in each other.

“I know he also has a long-standing loyalty to our club, and the more people we have like that the better.”

Lasley has a 20-year association with the club, having joined as a player in 1999.

Except for a two-year spell away at Plymouth Argyle and a short loan at Blackpool, the vast majority of his playing career was spent at Fir Park, where he amassed 487 appearances.

His switch to coaching came in the summer of 2017, serving as assistant ever since.

We will have up to 700 fans at our derby match away to Airdrieonians on Wednesday 21 July.

Tickets are now on sale to season ticket holders, priced at £12.

You can buy one ticket per season ticket holder. You will be required to log in to each season ticket account online to purchase.

You will need your customer number to log in. This is printed on your existing season card. It was also the final five digits of your username for your live streaming last season.

Seating will be on a free seating and socially-distanced basis. Please follow the instructions of stewards at the stadium.

Collect your tickets

Tickets must be collected from Fir Park. Collections will begin on Saturday.

Our ticket office will be open from 10am until 5.30pm on Saturday, and then from 9am to 5pm on Monday and Tuesday. On the day of the game on Wednesday, we are open for collections from 10am to 1pm.

Three more of our squad have committed for the 2021/22 SWPL1 season.

Abby Callaghan, Chelsie Watson and Lauren Doran-Barr will wear claret and amber again in the new campaign.

Abby Callaghan

After having a successful season last year, Abby Callaghan has earned her place in the side for the new season.

Staying for her third term in claret and amber, the midfielder will look to help her team push up the table this season.

“I’m delighted to be signing on for another year at Motherwell,” she said.

“I’ve worked with Paul previously and know what he’s capable of achieving within the club. I can’t wait to get started.”

Chelsie Watson

Chelsie Watson has also committed to Motherwell for another season.

The towering centre half was one of the first names on the teamsheet last time out and is looking to push on this year.

“I’m looking forward to another season at Motherwell,” Chelsie said.

“The first few weeks with Paul and his new coaching staff have been fantastic as they have really freshened things up. They will bring a lot of experience and new ideas to the squad this year.

“Individually and collectively we have been working really hard and are fully focused on the new season.”

Lauren Doran-Barr

Injured for most of last season, Lauren Doran-Barr has almost completed her recovery from injury and is ready to play a big part for Motherwell this season.

The former Rangers full-back has decided to stay for another season.

“It’s an exciting time to be a Motherwell player so I’m delighted to resign for the upcoming season,” Doran-Barr added.

“I’m looking forward to getting back from injury and continuing my development under the new coaching staff.”

The return to Fir Park comes on Saturday, with Queen of the South the visitors.

Fans are back home for the Premier Sports Cup group stage match. Kick-off is at 3pm.

All tickets for the match have been allocated to season ticket holders. We can’t wait to welcome almost 2,000 of you back home.

Some fans have had issues adding their ticket to the wallet on their phones.

If this happens to you, please open the Print at Home document attached to your ticket email and have it open on your phone. We will be able to scan the barcode from that.

If you have a ticket and cannot make the match, please let us know ASAP by calling 01698 333333 or emailing tickets@motherwellfc.co.uk. This will allow us to potentially pass your ticket to a fan who missed out in the ballot.

Watch out for an email on Friday with important information about coming back to Fir Park.
