Motherwell take on Inverness CT in the SSE Scottish Women’s Cup on Sunday afternoon.
Donald Jennow’s side welcome their third tier opponents to Ravenscraig in the fourth round of the competition. Kick off is at 2.30pm.
Tale of the tape
Motherwell progressed in the Scottish Cup in their last outing two weeks ago, defeating Partick Thistle 2-0 after extra time.
Their other game since returning from the summer break ended 0-0 at home against Spartans the week prior.
Inverness CT won 5-0 at Hutchison Vale last weekend to progress, defeating second-tier opposition.
The third tier team also returned from the summer break two weeks previous with a 4-2 home win over Cove Rangers to take them fifth in the league.
Manager sees cup chance to boost confidence
Donald Jennow’s team are undefeated since returning from the summer break, but the coach is refusing to take a game against third-tier opposition lightly.
“We have to guard against taking Inverness lightly,” he said.
“It’s not in the make-up of our team in any case, and we will have to perform at our best to progress in the competition.
“They’ve scored 59 goals in 14 league games this season. That underlines that we will face a confident opponent.”
