The ideal candidate should have a minimum five years practical experience and have not only a get up and go attitude but importantly be a decision maker with a working knowledge of stadium pitch management. This is a great career opportunity to turn around a surface which has faced considerable challenges in the past few years.

You will need excellent qualifications and experience in turf industry as well as organisation skills and a good eye for detail. This is a high profile role and applicants must be resilient, assertive, flexible and able to work under pressure. The ability to establish relationships and communicate effectively with people at all levels is essential.

The second pre-season friendly of the summer can now be confirmed with English side Leeds Utd visiting Fir Park on 16th July.

Simon Grayson’s men, including former ‘Well ace Ross McCormack, narrowly missed out on the Championship play-offs last season and will provide a stern test for the Steelmen.

The match will kick-off at 3pm with ticketing arrangements to follow.

Confirmed Pre-Season matches so far:

• Saturday 9th July 2011 – Dumbarton (A) 3pm
• Saturday 16th July 2011 – Leeds Utd (H) 3pm

Goalkeeper Lee Hollis has become the latest player to commit his future to the club by singing a new one-year deal.

The 25-year old former Airdrie stopper played second fiddle to the outstanding Darren Randolph last year but made his top-team debut at Celtic Park on the final day of last season, turning in a super display.

‘Well boss Stuart McCall praised Hollis in the aftermath of that game in May and clearly seen enough to believe the Bellshill-born ‘keeper was a more than able deputy.

Hollis told motherwellfc.co.uk, “It’s good to get things sorted as I really enjoy it here at Motherwell.

“I didn’t play much last season but when the guy between the sticks is performing the way Darren was, you haven’t got much of an argument. He will brilliant and I learned a lot from him and Stewart Kerr last year.

“I will keep working as hard as I can each and every day to make sure that if I am called upon, I am ready for anything.”

On the same day as Lee Hollis agreed an extended stay, U19s keeper Willie Muir, who is still illegible for the youth team next year, has also signed a new one-year contract extension.

Motherwell Football Club is proud to launch the Summer Soccer School for boys and girls aged between four and sixteen.

Following on a fantastic season for the first-team which saw us defeat the Champions of Iceland and the Norwegian Cup Holders, finish in the Top Six, and reach the Scottish Cup Final for the first time in twenty years, summer is here again.

During the summer holidays, the club will again be holding our own Summer Soccer School aimed at young people, boys and girls, between the ages of 4 and 16 at the Fir Park AstroTurf behind the Stadium.

As usual, we will be providing a fun programme that will have something for everybody.

For budding young footballers, we will have a wide range of football activities from dribbling, passing and shooting through to penalty competitions, and small sided games. We are passionate about improving the skills of all our players and our experienced Motherwell Soccer School Coaches will help young players take themselves to the next level.

All our coaches are also accredited with the Scottish Football Association.

Time will also be devoted to other activities including board games, table tennis, and Wiis will be available so there will be something for everyone.

Motherwell Football Club are today delighted to confirm that inspirational captain Stephen Craigan has signed a one-year contract extension.

The 34-year old Northern Irishman, capped 54 times by his country, played fifty times last season in Claret and Amber, taking his overall appearances for the club to 351.

He remains a vital part of the Motherwell rearguard which kept a record-breaking 19 clean sheets during the 2010/11 season, his testimonial year, helping the club to a second successive top-six finish.

Speaking exclusively to motherwellfc.co.uk, Craigan said, “I am pleased to have my immediate future sorted out and it’s nice to know you are still wanted.

“This will be my fourteenth pre-season with Motherwell but I have still got bags of enthusiasm and a willingness to do well week in and week out.

“The manager has already added one new face in Michael Higdon; a couple more of that quality and we’ll be looking to have another good season.”

Elsewhere, young goalkeeper Tom Bradley has joined fellow former U19s Jamie Pollock, Steven Howarth and Ross McKinnon in signing a one-year contract extension and will join up with the first-team squad when they return for pre-season training later this month.

Motherwell Football Club and the SPL Trust are now recruiting for year two of Football Fans in Training.

FFIT is a 12 week course aimed at tackling men’s health problems across all the SPL Clubs. Each session combines dietary and healthy living advice alongside physical activity at {Club Name}.

This is a great opportunity to get involved with your Football Club and help yourself live a healthier life. The programme is open to men aged between 35-65 who fit any of these criteria:

• BMI of 28+ 
• Belly 40 inches + 
• Trouser waist size of 38 inches +
