Shane Blaney arrived at Fir Park in January in 2023, but the Motherwell supporters had already seen what the Irish centre back was capable of six months prior. 

It was the 23-year-old’s stunning free kick that helped Sligo Rovers overcome Motherwell in the Europa Conference League in the summer of 2022.

Making the short move from Ireland, Blaney is a left sided centre half who is ready to make the next step in his promising career.
