Motherwell welcome Livingston in the final Ladbrokes Premiership match of the season on Saturday.

We’ve given away over 4,000 kids tickets for the match for our South Stand, with a handful still available.

If you’re bringing kids along, you can pay at the gate at the South Stand. Adult entry costs £20. If you’re over 60, aged between 16 and 18 or a student, you can pay in for £17.

As we’re expecting a larger than normal crowd, please head along early if you can.

What’s at stake

Both teams are locked in their respective league positions regardless of what happens on the final day.

Motherwell will end the Ladbrokes Premiership campaign in eighth spot, with Livingston in ninth.

The Steelmen can better their points and goals scored tally from last season with a win. Stephen Robinson’s side currently have 48 points – the same they finished 2017/18 with.

The form guide

Motherwell have won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five. A 2-0 loss at St Johnstone last week ended hopes of finishing in seventh spot.

At home, ‘Well have won six, drawn one and lost one in the league in 2019.

Trevor Carson is back and in the squad, after being given the all clear after recovering rom DVT.

Craig Tanner, Ross McCormack and Christian Mbulu remain sidelined. Peter Hartley joins them on the absent list due to a minor injury.

The maximum points return on offer for Motherwell in the 2018/19 Ladbrokes Premiership season is 51, with a victory against Livingston taking them to that amount.

Doing so – or at least picking up a draw – will surpass the points tally of 48 accumulated in the 2017/18 season.

Stephen Robinson’s side also currently sit with 43 goals scored, the same amount put in the back of the net last campaign, so there is another tally on offer to surpass.

What’s at stake

Both teams are locked in their finishing positions going into the game.

Motherwell will be in eighth, having lost the chance to take seventh with defeat at St Johnstone last weekend.

Livingston can get to within a point of their opponents with victory, but are guaranteed ninth spot.

Tale of the tape

The two teams have already met four times in 2018/19 – three times in the league and once in the Betfred Cup.

Danny Johnson’s goal was the difference in the first encounter in the cup early in the season, before a 1-1 draw at Fir Park in the first league game.

Livi then ran out 2-0 winners at home in the Premiership, before a 3-0 convincing win for Stephen Robinson’s side at home in February.

Adult entry prices are set at £20 for the South Stand. Concession prices are set at £17.

The battle for seventh spot came down to this.

This is the Story of the Match from our trip to face St Johnstone.

David Turnbull has won the Scottish Football Writers’ Association Young Player of the Year award.

The midfielder has been rewarded for an outstanding breakthrough season in claret and amber, in which he has netted 13 league goals.

Turnbull beat off competition from Jake Hastie, Kilmarnock’s Greg Taylor and Aberdeen’s Lewis Ferguson to win the award.

He becomes only the second Motherwell player in history to win the award, following in the footsteps of James McFadden, who won in season 2001/02.

He will be formally presented with the award at a Scottish Football Writers’ Association event on Sunday, 19 May.

Motherwell conceded seventh spot to St Johnstone in the Ladbrokes Premiership, as they lost 2-0 to the Saints in Perth.

Goals from Scott Tanser and Murray Davidson sealed the hosts’ league finish, and means the Steelmen will finish eighth.

Stephen Robinson named an unchanged team and the visitors started brightly, controlling possession and carving out half chances to try and get ahead.

On the half hour mark, the clearest chance of all should have fallen to Motherwell. Tanser handled the ball on the line to block Ariyibi’s goalbound effort, but the referee didn’t give it.

It would be Tanser who would then put his team ahead. Charles Dunne got on the wrong side of Chris Kane on the right side of the box and bundled the striker over.

Tanser then picked his spot to make it 1-0, putting the ball into the far right bottom corner just outside of the reach of Mark Gillespie.

Motherwell went in at the break arguably the better side but that changed in the second half, as the Saints doubled their advantage early on.

A swift counter attack left Grimshaw with a miracle to perform to somehow stop a cross into the box, having to contend with two St Johnstone players bearing down on goal.

The defender did his best, but Davidson used all his experience to steer home the second.

Motherwell changed their shape and brought on attacking reinforcements to try and salvage something, but they ultimately failed to carve out the chances required.
