    St Mirren fixture change

    Our opening day 2022/23 cinch Premiership match against St Mirren will now be played on Sunday 31 July. 

    Kick-off is 3pm.

    The fixture, that was originally due to be played on Saturday 30 July, has been moved due to our UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round match against Sligo Rovers on the Thursday 28 July.

    Ticket information will be announced shortly.

    Kaiyne Woolery departs

    Kaiyne Woolery has joined Turkish club Sakaryaspor for an undisclosed fee subject to international clearance.  

    The 27-year-old joined Motherwell on a free from Tranmere Rovers last summer, scoring twice in 31 league appearances.

    “Kaiyne told me at the the end of the season he didn’t feel settled in Scotland and he would like to explore his options during the summer,” ‘Well boss Graham Alexander said.

    “We had a very amicable conversation about it all and and we agreed on two possible scenarios.

    “We have come to a conclusion which suits both the club and player. I wish Kaiyne nothing but the best and thank him for his contribution last season.”

    Everyone at Motherwell Football Club would like thank Kaiyne for his efforts whilst at Fir Park and wish him every success at his new club.

    UEFA Europa Conference League Tickets

    Tickets for our UEFA Europa Conference League first leg match against either Bala Town or Sligo Rovers are still on sale.

    You can buy your tickets for the home leg online now by clicking here.

    The match is due to take place at Fir Park on Thursday 21 July, kick off is 7.45pm.

    Prices for the match are:

    Standard price 2022/23 season card holders:
    Adults £20 £15
    Concessions £15 £10
    Young adults & juniors £10 £5

    Please note that anyone who buys their season ticket on or after 1 July 2022 can still take advantage of the reduced Euro ticket discount, but must wait approximately 24 hours for the price reduction to be applied to the online ticketing system.

    • Concessions are listed as 65 and over and full time students with a valid matriculation card.
    • Young adults are 12 to 17 year olds
    • Juniors are 11 and under.

    Second Leg

    Due to capacities at both club’s current nominated stadiums, we are expecting a limited number of tickets for the second leg match, due to take place on Thursday 28 July 2022.

    We are inviting any 2022/23 season ticket holder to notify us of their wish to attend the match, be it in Wales or Ireland, by filling in the form at the link below.

    If the number of applicants exceeds our allocation of tickets, we will conduct a random ballot of all those who have applied to ensure swift distribution.

    Expressions of interest should be submitted to the club, via the link below, by no later than 5pm on Wednesday 13 July.

    Josh Morris signs for Motherwell

    Josh Morris signs for Motherwell

    Motherwell have signed Josh Morris from Salford City.

    The 30-year-old attacker, who operates on either side of a front three or deeper in midfield, has penned a two-year deal with the club.

    “It’s great to have Josh here with us, he’s a player I know very well and he was an integral part of two successful teams I managed,” Graham Alexander said.

    “He has great energy and a work ethic to match, a lovely left foot and real quality in the final third.

    “I believe he’ll complement the type of players we already have here, and I’m sure he will enjoy his time at Motherwell.”

    Morris came through the ranks at Blackburn Rovers, where he broke into the first team in 2010. He went on to make 22 appearances for the Rovers, including six games in the Premier League.

    In his time at Blackburn, he went on loan to Yeovil Town, Carlisle United and Fleetwood Town, where he first worked with Graham Alexander.

    Morris departed Blackburn Rovers in 2015 to join Bradford City. He then moved onto Scunthorpe United where he reunited once again with the current Well gaffer. He scored 20 goals in his first season with The Iron and followed that up with 12 the following season in a prolific spell at Glanford Park.

    Morris returned for another spell with Fleetwood Town before joining his most recent club Salford City in 2021.

    His signing is subject to registration formalities. He will wear the number 23 shirt this season.

    Partick Thistle tickets now on sale

    Tickets are now on sale for our friendly match against Partick Thistle on Saturday 16 July.

    Away supporters will be housed in the Colin Weir stand, with tickets priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions and under 16s.

    Partick Thistle have advised there will be no pay-at-the-gate entry and tickets can only be purchased online.

    Graham Alexander reflects on pre-season camp in Obertraun

    Graham Alexander reflects on the trip to Austria for pre-season.

    He says his side have coped well with how far the coaching staff have pushed them.

    The Motherwell manager reckons this week will help his side cope with mental fatigue that will hit them during the course of the season.

    Alexander was also pleased to see his side come away with a victory in a bounce match at the facility on Friday to round off the week.

    Motherwell are due to play either Bala Town of Wales or Sligo Rovers of Ireland in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

    Due to capacities at both club’s current nominated stadiums, we are expecting a limited number of tickets for the second leg match, due to take place on Thursday 28 July 2022.

    We are inviting any 2022/23 season ticket holder to notify us of their wish to attend the match, be it in Wales or Ireland, by filling in the form at the link below.

    If the number of applicants exceeds our allocation of tickets, we will conduct a random ballot of all those who have applied to ensure swift distribution.

    There is an option to apply as a family should you wish to attend with Junior or Young Adult season ticket holder. Please list their full names and customer numbers, as instructed in question 5 of the form.

    Ticket pricing will be confirmed in due course and successful supporters will be contacted with the option to buy once the fixture is confirmed

    Tickets for our UEFA Europa Conference League second round qualifying first leg match against either Bala Town or Sligo Rovers have gone on sale.

    Confirmation of the opponent will come on Thursday 14 July, when the two teams complete their first round qualifying tie.

    Partick Thistle pre-season fixture confirmed

    We will face Partick Thistle in a friendly match at Firhill Stadium on Saturday 16 July.

    Kick-off is 3pm.

    Andy Dibble is our new head of goalkeeping

    Andy Dibble is our new head of goalkeeping

    Former Manchester City and Cardiff City player Andy Dibble is our new head of goalkeeping. 

    The 57-year-old Welshman joins as part of Graham Alexander’s backroom staff after leaving Cardiff City in May, where he spent five seasons as goalkeeping coach.

    Dibble has three caps for his country and enjoyed a successful 24-year playing career before transitioning into coaching.

    “It is exciting to join up with Graham and the rest of the coaching staff,” Dibble said.

    “I am looking forward to the season ahead and getting to know everyone.”

    The former Rangers goalkeeper was the goalkeeping coach at Cardiff City when they got promoted to the Premier League in 2017.

    “I’m delighted to welcome Andy to the club as head of goalkeeping,” manager Graham Alexander added.

    “He has vast knowledge as a coach & his top level experience from his playing days will certainly help our keepers. Having experienced the Scottish game before, I know how excited he is to join us and help us keep progressing.”
