    Paycare extend partnership

    Paycare extend partnership

Motherwell Football Club is delighted to announce the extension of its partnership with English-based health cash plan provider Paycare.

Paycare are a leading not-for-profit organisation which provides cashback on everyday healthcare costs, as well as wider mental, financial and physical support.

Having been the club’s shorts sponsor last campaign, they have now signed up to become a back of shirt partner for 2019/20 and 2020/21, as well as continuing as our health and wellbeing partner.

“We are really delighted to be able to not only extend our sponsorship of the ‘Well but enhance it to become a back of shirt partner,” Kevin Rogers, chief executive of Paycare, said.

“We always enter into partnerships with a long-term view and our first year with this amazing club has been an absolute pleasure.

“We have met some fantastic people, both fans and staff, within the club. I am really pleased that we have managed to encourage an ever-growing number of Steelmen fans south of the border.

“As the Scottish Premiership’s only fully fan-owned club, paired with its community ethos, works perfectly with our drive to make a positive difference to the communities that we serve. Our ongoing partnership was an easy decision to make.”

Suzanne Reid, head of commercial and marketing at Motherwell FC, added: “We’re delighted to be expanding our partnership with Paycare to see them become a back of shirt partner.

“Paycare share our ambitions and values, and we’ve already enjoyed a lot of success since our partnership began in 2018.

“We look forward to building on our special relationship and thank them very much for their continued support.”

Paycare dates back to 1874 in Wolverhampton and was set up by the foremen of some of the city’s largest factories in a bid to protect their employees from crippling medical bills, and growing to become a leading provider in the UK.

It works with families, businesses and individuals to provide cashback on services from physiotherapy, reflexology and chiropody, to optical, dental, and vaccinations.

Also available is wider inclusive support such as a confidential counselling and support service, GP 24/7 app, Paycare Perks – an exclusive online discount platform – and Paycare Partners, which is a dedicated signposting service.

As a not-for-profit, Paycare has shared over £2.2m to-date with charities, causes and initiatives UK-wide by donating every spare penny not spent on enhancing its services to policyholders – seeing its stakeholders making a positive difference to their local communities.

David Turnbull to stay at Motherwell

David Turnbull to stay at Motherwell

David Turnbull is to remain a Motherwell player, with a proposed move to Celtic FC no longer taking place.

An agreement was reached with the Glasgow club on 12 June, subject to the player agreeing personal terms, which he did, and undergoing a medical.

During that medical process, an issue was identified that will require David to have immediate preventative surgery and subsequent rehabilitation.

Celtic were still keen to sign the player despite this matter arising. But having presented revised transfer terms to Motherwell, the clubs could not reach an agreement.

David will now remain at Fir Park and will shortly have an operation which will rule him out of any football for an extended period, the exact length to be determined following surgery.

We will give David all the support he needs during this process. We wish him the best with his procedure and rehabilitation, and look forward to watching him play in claret and amber again in the near future.

March against prostate cancer with Jeff Stelling

March against prostate cancer with Jeff Stelling

Jeff Stelling is coming to Fir Park as part of another epic walking challenge for Prostate Cancer UK.

The Sky Sports presenter and marathon man has already completed 25 walking marathons for the men’s health charity, and will now span another four countries in four days in September 2019.

The Scottish leg of his tour kicks off at Hampden Park on 5 September, making his way to numerous stadiums across Glasgow and Lanarkshire before ending in ML1.

If you want to raise money for the charity, you can join him on the walk by signing up at marchformen.org. What’s more, you can use the code MOTHERWELL10 to get 10% off the £30 entry fee.

Having raised close to £800,000 across 2016 and 2017, he’s aiming to march through the £1m fundraising barrier as he travels here, before heading on to Belfast, Cardiff and London.

Over 26,000 men are living with and after prostate cancer in Scotland, emphasising the need to raise awareness and funds.

“It’s three years since I started this life-saving journey at the gates of my club, Hartlepool United, but there is still so much work to do,” said Jeff.

“Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with one man dying every 45 minutes from this disease. That’s unacceptable, and that’s why I’m walking again.

“It’s an indiscriminate disease, affecting men and their loved ones across the UK. I’ve walked alongside many of them and am proud to call some friends. Their reaction and positive outlook despite being dealt the toughest of hands is simply unbelievable. I’m marching for them – and everyone affected – in a bid to fund the research to change the game.”

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson wears the Prostate Cancer UK pin badge in support the charity at every game.

“It’s going to be great to welcome Jeff and the walkers to Fir Park in September,” said the ‘Well manager,

“I’m sure there will be some tired legs arriving as Motherwell is the final stop, but every walker can be proud of the terrific efforts they’ll have made for Prostate Cancer UK.”

Fee agreed with Celtic for David Turnbull

Fee agreed with Celtic for David Turnbull

Motherwell Football Club has reached an agreement with Celtic FC for the potential transfer of David Turnbull.

The academy graduate has been given permission to speak to the club. Should the deal go through, the value of the transfer will vastly exceed our previous record fee received.

We have rejected several seven-figure offers for David in recent weeks, with clubs the length and breadth of the UK speaking to us about him. It is clear from that the fee we stand to receive fully maximises his potential value.

We have continued to stand by what we believe is a fair value for David. In light of the negotiating stance we have adopted, the money we stand to receive will be transformational for us as we continue to operate as a fan-owned club.

Motherwell FC will make no further comment at this time.

What if you could have a second place to call home?

    Habit.

Many of you have been coming to Fir Park for many, many years. Some of you have been with us for a while. Others might just be starting their love affair with the club, or you might be bringing along your next generation to get them hooked on the ‘Well.

We all have the things we do on matchday. Call them habits or, for most, superstitions. The same routine. The same breakfast. Wearing the same top if we won the week before. Take the steps up to the stand two at a time. The same seat for years on end. Don’t leave that seat for any reason until the half-time or full-time whistle goes. And so on.

You’ll have your habits. Whatever they are, let’s keep them going into the 2019/20 season.

Over 2,500 Motherwell fans have already decided to keep their traditions going for the forthcoming campaign. We had 4,300 commit to a season ticket for 2018/19 – and we want to try and surpass that record-breaking number again this year.

Back youth development with the Well Lottery

Back youth development with the Well Lottery

Want to help fund the future stars at Motherwell Football Club, and also be in with a chance of winning £25,000?

Our Well Lottery allows you to do just that, backing the next young talent rising through the ranks at the club and being in our weekly draw.

Priced at £1 per entry, we’ve also got smaller prizes of £1,000 and £25.

HOW TO JOIN THE WELL LOTTERY

To join the Well Lottery, you can now choose one of the following options:

    • Sign up online here
    • Fill in the lottery leaflet provided and return via the freepost address provided to Unity.
    • Download a lottery leaflet from the Well Lottery website and return to Unity by post.

Once you have signed up, you will receive a letter welcoming you to the lottery which will tell you your lottery numbers. You will then be entered into the draw for as long as you wish to play.

HOW DOES THE WELL LOTTERY WORK?

For as little as £1 per week, you’ll have the chance to win up to £25,000. At least 50p of every £1 played goes straight to youth development but most importantly, there are no ongoing costs to the club.

    WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

Every £1 is split three ways. At least 50p of every £1 comes straight to Motherwell FC, which is put towards the club’s youth development and academy programme. The other 50p covers the cost of the administration of the lottery, and goes towards the fantastic prize fund.

    HOW DO I WIN?

Every player of the Well Lottery will be allocated a six-digit lottery number for every entry they wish to play. This idea is to match your number with the winning number that is drawn on a Saturday in the correct sequence. Every entry in the Unity lottery has an equal one in 63 chance of winning a prize.

    For example:

    325764 – random winning number

    326574 – your lottery number

This is a three-number match, winning five entries into the next draw.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE WON?

Players are notified automatically, and prizes sent out by post, so you do not need to claim your prize. If you would like to check the winning number each week, these can be found on Unity’s website and here on the official Motherwell FC website.

    WHAT IS UNITY?

Unity is a platform on which charities run their own fundraising lottery. It is run by an external lottery manager, Sterling Lotteries, who administer hundreds of charity lotteries for clients across the country.
