Starting his career in Scotland with Hearts, Sam Nicholson has featured for Minnesota, Colorado Rapids and Bristol Rovers in his career. With the ability to play on either side of the midfield, Stuart Kettlewell made him his fourth January signing having left the MLS in January 2024. 

With over 300 games in his career, the 29-year-old arrived at Fir Park with over 100 games in the MLS and over 80 games in the Scottish Premiership. Familiar with the league, and with the added drizzle of experience abroad, Nicholson looks to be a promising asset for the Motherwell.
