Apostolos Stamatelopoulos has been ruled out for at least eight weeks with a fractured wrist, which has required surgery.
After thorough assessment, it became clear that he would be unable to play and will missing for at least two months.

Lennon Miller was delightfully surprised at his inclusion in the latest Scotland squad, saying he was expecting his Under 21 call-up only. Miller is looking forward to joining up with his Scotland teammates, so he can learn as much as possible from the experienced players within the ranks of Steve Clarke’s squad.
Miller remains grounded and is looking forward to trying to match his father’s total number of caps.

Tawanda Maswanhise has earned a call-up to the latest Zimbabwe squad.
The Warriors will continue their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign later this month.
They will play two matches during this international window. First up is Benin on Thursday 20 March at home, with the game being played in South Africa, before travelling to face Nigeria on Tuesday 25 March.
Maswanhise and Zimbabwe will hoping to get their campaign back on track, as they currently sit bottom of their group on two points after four games. However, with three teams joint top on seven points, they know a couple of positive results can get them up the table.
Kai Andrews has been named in the senior Wales squad for the first time.
The 18-year-old arrived in January and has been a pivotal part in Michael Wimmer’s side. Having represented at the youth levels for Wales, Craig Bellamy has included the 18-year-old in his squad that will take part in two World Cup Qualifiers.
They will face Kazakhstan on Saturday 22 March at home, before travelling to face North Macedonia on Tuesday 25 March.
These are the first fixtures in Group J, with Wales in a group alongside Belgium and Liechtenstein also.
Ewan Wilson will travel to Spain with Scotland’s Under 21 side later this month.
Scot Gemmill has assembled a young squad ahead of the new Under-21 cycle. They will play two friendly matches whilst in Spain, taking on Republic of Ireland on Friday 21 March, before facing Iceland on Tuesday 25 March.
These two friendlies will act as preparation for the EURO 2027 qualifiers which get underway later this year.

In collaboration with the Well Foundation and the Scottish Asian Business Chamber, Motherwell FC will mark a significant milestone in Scottish cultural understanding by welcoming 300 attendees for prayer and a communal meal to break the fast during the holy month of Ramadan.
The historic gathering represents a significant milestone in Scottish cultural understanding, engaging with and bringing together diverse communities to Fir Park Stadium – one of Scotland’s most iconic sporting venues.
Attendees will break fast before participating in sunset prayers (Maghreb) at the stadium.
“There are few things as Scottish as football,” Junaid Ashraf, Trustee of the Scottish Asian Business chamber added.
“The fact that the holy month of Ramadan is being celebrated at a football club creates a truly special relationship for the Scottish Muslim community – connecting both our Scottish and Muslim identity together in a heartening way.”

The initiative builds upon the Scottish Asian Business Chambers 15-month partnership with North Lanarkshire Council, which has already engaged over 280 business owners and entrepreneurs across the region. The chamber has established crucial infrastructure for engagement with diverse business communities with North Lanarkshire Council.
The Well Foundation, which currently hosts over 400-people weekly for football training and tournaments at Ravenscraig, has provided essential support in bringing this vision to life. Their existing community engagement through sports formed a natural foundation for this pioneering event.
“As leading organisations for diverse business leadership at the Scottish Asian Business Chamber and diverse football participation at the Well Foundation, it was fantastic to work with one another, alongside Motherwell Football Club and North Lanarkshire Council, to build the momentum of this event and make it come to life,” said a spokesperson for the Well Foundation.
The response to the event announcement has been overwhelmingly positive, with all available tickets claimed within days. Organisers had already increased capacity twice to accommodate demand, and a waiting list of approximately 30 people has formed. The enthusiastic reception underscores the significance of this cultural bridge-building initiative.
The event is being generously supported by sponsors Chaiiwala, Anzar’s, Baba’s Kitchen, and Lamegos, whose contributions have made it possible to host this celebration at such a high standard.
Organisers hope this pioneering event will strengthen community bonds and foster greater understanding between Scotland’s diverse populations. The Scottish Asian Business Chamber and Well Foundation envision this celebration becoming an annual tradition and inspiring similar initiatives at other football clubs across Scotland.

There will be a minute’s applause prior to kick off on Saturday in memory of well-known former player and coach Cammy Murray who recently passed away.
Cammy also had a 10-year spell with today’s opponents St Mirren and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2019. Cammy was very well known to so many and also was a former PE teacher at Lanark Academy. He will be missed.
Our popular Beer Garden will be open to all from 12:30pm until kick off entry via the walkway to the right of the Phil O’Donnell Stand.
The Cooper Bar will be open from 12 noon serving food and drink. Come along and have a bite to eat and a drink before the match. The bar will also be open post-match for an hour for those wanting to avoid any traffic.
Guide Dogs North Lanarkshire will be on hand collecting money for a bucket collection. Turning Point Scotlands North Lanarkshire Crisis Outreach Service will be delivering Naloxone training and overdose awareness prior to the match. The staff will be based at John Hunter stand, please pop along and say hello.
Saturday’s match is Well Society Day and the third of our Junior Steel matches. Remember, Junior Steel members can claim up to 4 free tickets for the match. We will have some half time entertainment on Saturday, with a competition between some of the mascots from both clubs.

Lennon Miller has earned his first senior call-up for Scotland.
