Motherwell travel to the national stadium on Sunday 3 November to take on Rangers for a spot in the Premier Sports Cup final.

Kick off is 3pm at Hampden Park.

How to follow the game

Season ticket holders will be able to purchase up to six tickets each and these will be made available to purchase online or in person at the Ticket Office.

Please note that your Season Ticket customer number is XXX.  Details of how to register and activate your account prior to tickets going online is attached.  We would encourage as many supporters as possible to purchase online where you will be able to view and select your own seats.

If purchasing online or by phone, you will be contacted when your tickets are ready for collection.

What else is happening?

All Buses running from Fir Park are sold out.

For those with pre-booked bus tickets, buses will leave promptly from outside the Cooper stand at 1.30pm and we would ask you to please make your way to your bus at 1.15pm at the latest.

The Cooper Bar will open from 11am selling drinks and breakfast rolls and the Cooper stand also opening at 11am.

Drinks will be on sale from kiosk 7, which you will be able to take to the stand and kiosk 8 will be serving food.

Club Shop

Our Club Shop will be open on Saturday 10.30am-1pm and on Sunday 10.30am-1.30pm to enable you to get your Motherwell hats, scarves, strips etc for Hampden.

Pre-Match Entertainment @Fir Park

Callum Brand will be performing live from 11am pitch-side at the Cooper stand. Callum is a local singer and songwriter and a massive Motherwell fan.

He has a written a new song ‘The Pride of Lanarkshire’ to show how much Motherwell Football Club means to him and will perform it on the day.

In addition to Callum, we will have free face painters in the concourse area.

Post Match

Please make your way back to the same bus which will be parked in the Purple car park (off Aitkenhead Road) immediately after the game ends.

The Cooper Bar and Stand will both re-open on return to Fir Park for refreshments, with Callum performing again trackside.

PARKING RESTRICTIONS

Persons attending events at Hampden Park should be aware that the area immediately surrounding the stadium is mainly residential and the availability of on-street parking is extremely limited due to event specific parking restrictions.

Kings Park Station is around a 10 min walk (0.5 mile) to Hampden.

Stephen O’Donnell came off against Dundee United and won’t be available for this match.

Paul McGinn, Callum Slattery, Harry Paton, Jack Vale, Ross Callachan and Sam Nicholson remain out for this game.

Liam Gordon and Tony Watt are available for selection, after both missed Wednesday night’s match.

Motherwell’s Fortunes

It was the perfect preparation for the Steelmen going into this match. A 2-1 win at Tannadice, thanks to a Tawanda Maswanhise double, meant it was seven wins out off 11 away match in the Premiership for Stuart Kettlewell’s side.

That result lifted Motherwell to fourth in the table on 16 points.

Defeating Edinburgh City, Clyde, Kilmarnock and Dundee United to reach this stage, it’s a first semi-final in six years for the club.

Opposition Report

Rangers are three points ahead of Motherwell in the league standings. Rangers were defeated 2-1 in their last match against Aberdeen on Wednesday night at Pittodrie.

It’s three wins and three loses in their last six outings, with Rangers overcoming St Johnstone and Dundee to reach the last four of this competition.

Cyriel Dessers remains the top scorer for Rangers in all competitions, with seven goals, however Czech Republic international Vaclav Cerny has found the net on six occasions since arriving in the summer, with five of those goals coming in October.

It’s a huge week for Motherwell Football Club, with the opportunity to reach the Premier Sports Cup final fast approaching. But first, a trip to Dundee came on Wednesday night.

With fourth against fifth, the game started off a tight contest. Chances were few and far between, but Tawanda Maswanhise soon put stop to that, finishing from Dan Casey’s header across goal.

Stephen O’Donnell had to withdraw in the first-half, which started a string of Dundee United chances. Aston Oxborough stood strong but eventually the pressure took it’s toll and the hosts were level.

Motherwell started well in the second-half and soon, it was Maswanhise who pounced on a Dundee United error to win the game and send the travelling support down the road full of optimism for Sunday’s glamour tie.

Lennon Miller has been named in the latest Scotland Under 19 squad. 

The 18-year-old has been an integral part of Stuart Kettlewell’s side as well as Scotland’s Under 21s, however with no games for Scott Gemmill’s youngsters, Neil McFarlane has called upon the midfielder’s services.

Scotland play three Under-19 European Championship qualifiers, taking on Wales, Liechtenstein and France with the aim of progressing to the Elite Round in March.

Motherwell leapfrogged Dundee United into fourth place in the William Hill Premiership with a battling 1-2 win at Tannadice.

Zimbabwean midfielder Tawanda Maswanhise proved to be the hero as his two goals either side of half-time earned the Steelmen a confidence inspiring win ahead of Sunday’s semi-final.

Stuart Kettlewell made three changes to the side that lost to Dundee with Steve Seddon, Tawanda Maswanhise and Dan Casey replacing Andy Halliday, Davor Zdravkovski and the suspended Liam Gordon.

After an even opening 20 minutes, the visitors took the lead as Maswanhise claimed his first in claret and amber.

Lennon Miller’s deep free-kick was headed across goal by Dan Casey and the Zimbabwean cooly picked his spot past Walton. There were question marks over Apostolos Stamatelopoulos’ involvement in the as the Aussie possibly strayed into an offside position as he ushered the ball into the net but VAR found no fault and the goal stood.

Motherwell were dealt a blow as captain Stephen O’Donnell hobbled off on the half-hour mark after an innocuous looking clearance. The defender left the pitch, clearly in pain and was replaced by Shane Blaney who made his first appearance since the first league game of the season back in August.

The reshuffle of the defence perhaps played a part in the equaliser as Kristjian Trapanovski found plenty of space down the Motherwell right and his pinpoint cross found Sam Dalby who rose unmarked and headed past Oxborough.

There wasn’t much between the sides as the game grew deeper into the second half with a feeling of the next goal would be the winner, such was the lack of clear cut chances.

Thankfully it was the Steelmen who took their chance as a mistake from Adegboyega presented the busy Maswanhise with a great chance. Bearing down on the goal the winger kept his cool and dinked the ball over Jack Walton and into the United net.

Motherwell’s defence largely held firm, limiting the hosts to very little, and eventually securing a vital three points to end a run of two defeats and tee up a big game on Sunday at Hampden.

Ewan Wilson is feeling great after his dedication to fitness and nutrition in the summer. The young full-back has cemented his spot in the side and is looking to continue what he has started. 

Wilson remains level-headed ahead of a massive week in his career.

Assistant manager Stephen Frail says there are no new fresh injury concerns ahead of Wednesday night’s match against Dundee United. 

The Well number two insists the full focus is on this game, despite a mouthwatering semi-final match against Rangers on Sunday in the Premier Sports Cup.

When Celtic come to Fir Park, Motherwell know they need to have their clinical edge should the chances come. And after striking the woodwork twice within the first ten minutes of the game, that statement became true. 

Having not failed to take their chances, Celtic would break the deadlock through Luke McCowan midway through the first-half. From then on, Celtic didn’t look back.

Using their star studded bench, they grew stronger and stronger in the second-half. Alistair Johnston would deliver the critical blow on the hour mark as the Canadian headed in a second.

Adam Idah made it three before Liam Gordon seen red for a challenge on the former. It’s a quick turnaround for Motherwell now, with a trip to Tannadice looming on Wednesday night.

Motherwell will make their way to the City of Discovery on Wednesday 30 October to face Dundee United in the William Hill Premiership. 

Kick off is 7:45pm.

Motherwell’s Fortunes

Motherwell were beaten by reigning champions Celtic on Sunday afternoon at Fir Park. It’s five wins and three defeats in the Steelmen’s last eight games.

The Steelmen have won four of the last five meetings between the two sides, with the latest coming in the quarter-final of the Premier Sports Cup last month.

Opposition Report

Dundee United travelled to unbeaten Aberdeen on Saturday night in search of a third win on the spin. Following on from a win against St Mirren, and a dramatic turnaround against Hibernian, the Dons came away with a narrow 1-0 victory.

In their first season back in the top-flight, Jim Goodwin’s side have made a strong start in the league. They are fourth in the table on 15 points after nine games, two points ahead of Motherwell.

Kristijan Trapanovski is United’s top scorer this season, with four goals to his name.
