Dan Casey says he’s glad the team have some decent form at the right time in the season, as his team still have a chance of reaching the top-six.
Despite Dundee’s match against Rangers being postponed, thus meaning a win still won’t confirm a top-six spot, Casey is adamant that it doesn’t change anything for the players and they will just remain focused on winning.
Following the news that Dundee would play their final pre-split fixture next week, Stuart Kettlewell remains fully focused on the task of Saturday and Hibernian, with his stance and preparation not changing despite this news.
Kettlewell provides an update on the playing squad ahead of Saturday’s match, as well as discussing the arrival of a potential American investor.
Motherwell face Hibernian at Fir Park on Saturday 13 April, in what is the deciding match to see who will finish in the top-six.

Motherwell have the fourth best run of form in the last six games in the league, prior to any midweek games.
It’s been 10 points gained out of a possible 18, with only Kilmarnock (11 points) and the old firm (both on 13) better off.
It was another chapter of the late, late show for the Steelmen on Saturday, when Moses Ebiye completed a sensational comeback from two goals down in the last 13 minutes of the game. Georgie Gent scored his first league goal before Theo Bair made it 13 for the season.
The result means that Motherwell remain in touching distance of a spot in the top six. But Hibernian do also.
Motherwell are two points behind Nick Montgomery’s side however, have put in two impressive showing against the Hibees this season. On the second day of the season, Conor Wilkinson and Mika Biereth goal saw Motherwell come away with a 2-1 win, before a 2-2 draw at Easter Road in January.
Hibernian are also in the running for a top-six spot however, those hopes were dented on Saturday after a 2-1 defeat to St Johnstone at Easter Road. That means it’s been back-to-back defeats for the Hibees.
It’s been two wins, a draw and two defeats in the last five.
Adam Le Fondre is back leading the line for Hibs. The experienced forward has five goals this season. Martin Boyle and Élie Youan continue to be a threat in the wide areas, with Boyle contributing nine goals and four assists. Youan has 10 goals with 10 assists.
Dundee, Hibernian and Motherwell can all finish in that sixth position as things stand.
Dundee play on Wednesday night against Rangers, which is their game in hand. Should Dundee pick up a draw or a win, Motherwell would not longer be able to finish in the sixth.
If Rangers beat Dundee, it will come down to Saturday.
In the event of a Rangers win on Wednesday night, Dundee would be on 39 points, Hibernian on 38 and Motherwell 36. It’s worth noting, that prior to Wednesday night, Motherwell have a better goal difference of five goals over Dundee.
If Dundee win or draw, Motherwell cannot finish in the top-six regardless of the result at Fir Park.
If Dundee lose, Motherwell must win to finish sixth. Any win would move them into the top-six.
Motherwell knew they had to pick up a win against Dundee should they stand any chance of reaching the top-six. However, in the lead up to the game, doubt was cast upon the match due to the pitch in Dundee.
Two inspections were called on the day of the game and despite Motherwell’s concern over player safety, the match went ahead as planned.
After 70 minutes but, Motherwell were probably wishing that wasn’t the case. They found themselves 2-0 down and seemingly any chance of a top-six spot had evaporated.
However, with the introduction of Lennon Miller and debutant Moses Ebiye, everything would change.
In the most remarkable last 15 minutes of the game, the Steelmen got themselves back on level terms before Ebiye found the back of the net to complete a two goal comeback in the 93rd minute, sparking wild celebrations and taking the race for top-six down to the wire.
Motherwell defied the odds to keep their top six hopes alive after completing a sensational second-half comeback win at a Dundee.
Jordan McGhee and Luke McCowan had the home side firmly in the ascendency after finding the target across both halves but with just over ten minutes to play, Motherwell capitalised on a barrage of opportunities, with Georgie Gent, Theo Bair and debutant Moses Ebiye stunning the Dens Park crowd to complete a thrilling afternoon, with the Steelmen sealing three points in the City of Discovery.
Question-marks shrouded the highly-anticipated fixture throughout the week, with the visitors preparations hindered by the uncertainty surrounding the playability of the aging Dens Park turf, with the pitch only just surviving two pitch inspections
The expectations were clear for the squad ahead of the afternoon, with a victory sustaining the Well’s optimistic push for the remaining top-six place. Neither side were able to establish a foothold in the game, with the heavy rain-soaked pitch and intense wind preventing both from finding a rhythm.
It took until the 28th minute for Stuart Kettlewell’s side to carve out any real chance of note. Georgie Gent burst forward on the left flank before curling an enticing delivery to fellow Blackburn loanee Jack Vale, but the forward could only guide his headed effort wide from twelve yards.
Dundee then threatened as Aaron Donnelly’s header across the face of goal reached the feet of Antonio Portales but the Mexican could only find the side-netting.
After a brief spell of possession, the hosts capitalised on a moment of defensive in-decision to break the first-half deadlock. A collection of crosses into the Motherwell penalty area eventually found Bakayoko, who’s header across the six-yard-box reached Jordan McGhee, who dispatched a header from close-range.
Motherwell looked to respond with an immediate attacking phase of play, but despite a clever interchange of play between Theo Bair and Jack Vale, the Welsh striker couldn’t apply the finishing touches with his left-footed effort. Motherwell continued to carve out opportunities but were never able to trouble Jon McCraken in the Dundee goal.
A reaction was needed, but despite a positive opening to the second-half, the hosts soon doubled their advantage. McCowan’s whipped delivery from the corner floated dangerously towards the Motherwell back post, and the forceful wind swirling within the stadium diverted the ball beyond the reach of Liam Kelly in the Motherwell goal.
With top-six hopes seemingly dashed, Motherwell were handed a lifeline as Joe Shaughnessy was ruled to have handled the ball inside the area. After a lengthy VAR check, Theo Bair stepped up and despite the Canadian’s initial effort being parried clear by McCraken, Gent reacted first to drill a low strike into the bottom-right corner.
Moments later, a hopeful break on the counter-attack left Bair racing through on goal, and after wrong-footing the Dundee stopper, the striker calmly placed his effort into the empty net.
Motherwell rallied by the late resurgence continued to threaten the Dundee goal, and midway through stoppage time, debutant Moses Ebiye parted the hosts backline to dispatch Vale’s drilled cross, with an exceptional volley; sending the travelling Motherwell supporters into hysterics.
We can confirm that following a second pitch inspection this afternoon, our cinch Premiership match against Dundee is on.
Whilst we are pleased with the outcome of the second pitch inspection, we remain strongly sympathetic to all travelling supporters due the uncertainty around today’s fixture.

A crucial part of the backline in our historic win at Ibrox at the start of the month, he produced a fine display as well as a strong work rate.
He set up Theo Bair for his goal against St Mirren, with a composed and cushioned header back across goal from Jack Vale’s cross.
Available for every match this season, O’Donnell’s professional approach and attitude has seen him deployed in numerous areas of the pitch. Empty the tank in every match this month, alongside an assist, has seen him named your March player of the month.
Dundee have held a precautionary pitch inspection at Dens Park this afternoon and at present time, the pitch has passed that inspection.
Rain covers are now going on the pitch to try and limit water onto the playing surface. It is likely the covers will stay down on the pitch until Saturday morning.
Depending on the weather, we expect a further pitch inspection to be arranged on Saturday morning.
