Motherwell travel to Ibrox for a friendly match on Wednesday 22 July.

The game will be the Steelmen’s third test of pre-season for 2020/21, having defeated Dundee United and lost to Kilmarnock so far.

Kick-off at Ibrox is at 6pm BST.

Then press sign in in the top right corner and enter your details using the following example:

Username: firstname-surname-customernumber
Password: customernumber

For example, Joe Bloggs’ customer number on his season ticket card is 24141.

He would sign in as joe-bloggs-24141
His password would be 24141

Please change your password after you sign in for the first time.

Tale of the tape

Rangers have won the last four competitive outings between the two sides. Before that, two draws at Fir Park had given Motherwell a degree of parity.

The Steelmen’s last victory at Ibrox came in the Premiership play-offs in May 2015, with a 3-1 win coming courtesy of goals from Lee Erwin, Steven McManus and Lionel Ainsworth.

Motherwell started pre-season with a 1-0 win over Dundee United, before a 3-2 reversal at the hands of Kilmarnock on Friday.

Jordan White was on target in the United match, with Mark O’Hara and Tony Watt scoring against Killie.

Rangers lifted the Veolia Cup in France at the weekend, defeating Lyon and Nice in back-to-back friendlies.

The Glasgow side are preparing both for the start of the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership season and also the resumption of the 2019/20 UEFA Europa League.

Having lost 3-1 at home to Bayer Leverkusen in the last 16 tie before lockdown, they travel to Germany on 6 August for the second leg.

Motherwell lost out 3-2 to Kilmarnock in a well-contested friendly at Fir Park on Friday.

An even first half was followed by a dominant display in the second 45 from the Steelmen, but they were punished for failing to make their dominance pay.

The first half was low on chances for both sides. Long-range efforts from Turnbull and Maguire failed to seriously test the ‘keeper, while both also combined at close range, with Turnbull’s knockdown seeing Maguire fire wide from 12 yards.

With five minutes left in the half, Burke’s corner was swung in from the right in front of the Cooper Stand, with Kabamba getting across the front of his man and steering a header into the left of the net.

Early in the second, Motherwell were level. Hastie’s cut inside on the right saw him stand the ball up to the back post.

Fellow sub Hylton read the intention, peeling off and heading the ball down to Polworth, who then teed up O’Hara to fire home a ferocious low effort into the bottom right corner from 25 yards.

Hylton could have made it two 10 minutes later. Another ball from the lively Hastie caused trouble for the visiting ‘keeper who missed the flight of the ball under pressure. But the winger just couldn’t bundle the unexpected ball at the back post.

Christopher Long made his return after signing on for a second year and he was next to seriously test the goalkeeper. Laid off by Watt on the edge of the area, his attempt to disguise a placed shot into the bottom right corner was well read and saved.

‘Well continued to press. McGinley’s cross from the left fell sweetly for Watt 12 yards out, but his volley was blocked.

The sucker punch would arrive with 15 to go. Against the run of play a low cross from the left was met by a Kilmarnock trialist, who was able to steer the ball into the bottom right corner of the net.

Then, with five minutes late, Motherwell levelled again.

Hastie again was brilliant down the right, twisting, turning and beating his opposite number all ends up. His perfectly-flighted to the back post was met by Watt, who headed down under pressure into the net.

Within 60 seconds, Kilmarnock retook the lead. From kick off, a break down the right played in Kiltie, who fired low past Carson from a tight angle into the left of the net.

The last few months have been particularly tough on many of us.

Motherwell FC’s Community Trust, together with Time to Tackle and supported by Paycare, are hosting a Zoom call on Wednesday 15 July at 7pm for anyone to come on and share their experiences, or listen to others.

On the call, the group’s founder Aaron Connolly will tell his story of his battle with poor mental health. His organisation exists to help tackle poor mental health, poor physical health, stigma and loneliness using the power of football and peer support.

We are saddened to hear of the death of Pat Quinn at the age of 84.

One of the club’s famous Ancell Babes, the inside forward made 251 appearances for the club between 1955 and 1962, scoring 119 goals.

Quinn was a star man in the side, and would receive international recognition through four Scotland caps during his time at Fir Park.

He would be sold to Blackpool in 1962 for £34,000, a significant sum for the times. He also went on to play for Hibernian and East Fife.

Motherwell stepped up their pre-season preparations with a 1-0 home win against Dundee United on Saturday.

Manager Stephen Robinson used two different lineups in either half, as the squad got their first minutes of the 2020/21 campaign.

New signings Nathan McGinley, Ricki Lamie, Scott Fox, Jordan White and Jake Hastie all featured, while there were top team minutes for Harry Robinson and young defender Max Johnston.

David Turnbull also made his return after summer knee surgery, playing the first 45 minutes of the match.

Exactly 18 weeks after Motherwell’s 1-1 draw with Hearts in their last competitive outing, the first half saw both teams tentatively find their way into the swing of things again.

Neither side seriously troubled either goalkeeper with clear-cut chances, save for a United header which bounced off the post and out.

The breakthrough came 10 minutes into the second half. Robinson’s ingenuity down the right opened the chance for him to cut inside and loop a shot over the goalkeeper.

With United’s number one beaten, the ball crashed down off the crossbar, with White on hand to tap home from a matter of yards.
