The Well Society & The Foundation of Hearts have teamed up to celebrate fan ownership at Saturday’s (November 28th) match against Hearts here at Fir Park.
Both supporters’ groups are aiming to break new ground in Scottish football by becoming the majority shareholder of their respective clubs.
Rivals on the park, both the Well Society & Foundation of Hearts have formed a working rapport off it as they both bid to fulfil their respective aims.
The Well Society Chairman, Brian McCafferty said: “The Well Society is delighted to team up with the Foundation of Hearts for a fan-ownership week. We both have similar goals and it makes sense to collaborate with each other on ways to achieve them. Hopefully, sooner rather than later both clubs will be owned and run by the fans and the joint campaign will help in some way to achieve that.”
Foundation of Hearts chairman Brian Cormack said: “It’s great that the two groups have managed to get together to celebrate what we have achieved so far and reinforce what we are striving for.
“It is fitting that the fans will play their part both before and at half-time on the day.
“The sight of the team emerging from the tunnel wearing the Foundation of Hearts tribute kit for the first time will also be an immensely proud moment for the FoH board and members alike.”
To mark the occasion, each player will be accompanied by a mascot before the game, while a further four mascots from each club will display a banner of their respective fans group.
Hearts and Motherwell fans will then go head-to-head in a penalty competition at half-time.
Both Well Society directors and the Foundation of Hearts board will be available to meet the fans at the match, with a FoH information stall to be set up in the away end.
